“As demographics change, so too does our need to understand children and families from diverse cultures” (Kaiser & Rasminsky, 2016, p. 89).
Even if we don’t realize it, our culture and the cultural viewpoints we possess influences our behavior. In order to be able to truly understand the influence that culture has on behavior, we must first understand our own cultural competence, and then use this knowledge to implement culturally responsive teaching.
