Case Study Presentation
Instructions: Develop a 15-minute presentation, with slides and recorded audio(, outlining the actions you believe led the organization to the next level of sustainability in a highly competitive healthcare marketplace.
Introduction
Note: The assessments in this course build upon the work you have completed in the previous assessments. Therefore, complete the assessments in the order in which they are presented.
The selection and use of appropriate measurement tools and control processes is important. They enable healthcare leaders to objectively quantify and evaluate outcomes.
This assessment provides an opportunity for you to assess the outcomes of a change initiative and recommend steps toward sustainable change in a highly competitive healthcare marketplace.
Reminder: In this final assessment, you'll select a healthcare organization (either your current employer or the example provided in the case study Healthassist, Inc.: Leading through a Pandemic (Chapter 8, pages 317–333)). You are highly encouraged to select your current employer on which to base your work and, if you choose this path, make sure your workplace completes the Learner and Employer Acknowledgement and Release Form [PDF].
Instructions
For your final project assessment, you will incorporate your work and the feedback you received from the two previous assessments to prepare a PowerPoint presentation outlining the actions you believe the case study CEO or your organization's leader must take in order to lead the way through to next level of sustainability in a highly competitive healthcare marketplace. Refer to the Assessment 4 description and rubric for detailed instructions as to how to complete this assessment.
In order to complete this presentation, you must:
- Describe benchmarking practices that were used in the case study or your chosen organization, and conduct benchmarking research to identify best practices to improve both the clinical and nonclinical practices of the organization.
- Analyze the customer service and satisfaction drivers present in this case study and apply the successful organizational change process.
- Consider the organizational culture, mission, vision, and values and how they affected the overall changes to the organization.
- Determine how the organization considered organizational governance and structure to assure success, timeliness, effectiveness, and efficiency of services.
- Describe measures used to make this assessment and provide your rationale for selecting these measures.
Once you have completed the steps outlined above, use the material you have gathered, along with the feedback you received from Assessments 2 and 3 to prepare a PowerPoint presentation outlining the actions you believe were taken, or lacking, to demonstrate successful change efforts in the case study provided or in your chosen organization. Be sure to support all of your conclusions with academic references.
Your final presentation should be recorded in Kaltura and be no longer than 15 minutes.
Presentation Tools
You may use Microsoft PowerPoint or any other suitable presentation software to create your slides. If you elect to use an application other than PowerPoint, check with your faculty to avoid potential file compatibility issues.
Use the speaker's notes section of each slide to develop your talking points and cite your sources, as appropriate. If you need help designing your presentation, you are encouraged to review the various presentation resources provided for this assessment. These resources will help you to design an effective presentation, whether you choose to use PowerPoint or other presentation design software.
Record a voiceover track for your presentation, using Kaltura Media or other technology of your choice.

- Provide a rationale for the selection of specific measurements designed to assess post-change success.
- Communicate effectively by integrating research into written documents that follow APA format and use the consistent grammar, punctuation, and mechanics expected of a healthcare professional.
