The timeline needs to have an entry for each book of the New Testament, giving a linear entry point for possibly dating as stated in the deSilva text. Scholars identify various thoughts on dating, but for the assignment, place the books on the timeline where deSilva states they would work.
Please ensure that you take note of the following information:
Note: There may be occasions when deSilva does not provide a definitive answer, such as with the Gospel of Mark. It is advisable to position Mark just before 70 based on deSilva's statement on page 177, "A time of composition prior to 70 CE seems quite likely." If a book has a dating of 65-67…insert it at 65 on the timeline with the note 65-67.
